  The toilets are rough and it is very crowded but it is FREE. A big thank you to the rate payers of Takaka for providing the land and facilities out of the kindness of their heart to freedom campers. Oh and take the warnings about not camping in the river bed seriously. The night we were there it flooded and lots of tents and cars had to be moved very quickly in the middle of the night, and they were within the advised camping area. If they were on the river bed area that night they would have been washed away!
